Governors Ball, one of NYC’s beloved summer traditions canceled by Covid-19, will return this weekend with a new location and safety measures but the same great music acts and food vendors you know and love.
We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about this year’s Gov Ball, from logistics to can’t-miss music acts.
Logistics
Gov Ball will take place Friday, September 24th to Sunday, September 26th at Citi Field in Flushing, with next year’s festival slated for early June of 2022. Citi Field is easily accessible by subway, the Long Island Railroad, bus, bike, or by foot. Asphalt areas will be topped with high-grade astroturf to improve comfort, and stages will be centered in the middle of the festival to prevent sound bleeding
Single-day tickets begin at $129 plus taxes and fees. While Friday and Saturday tickets as well as all three-day passes are sold out, resale tickets are available on the Gov Ball website.
In light of Covid-19, Gov Ball has implemented new safety measures including requiring every guest to either be fully vaccinated by September 10th or to obtain a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours of each day you attend the event.

Food & Drink
As always, Gov Ball’s food and drink lineup is just as impressive as their musical acts. Vendors from across New York state will come together to make sure attendees’ are fueled to keep the party going from morning until night. We’ve rounded up a few of the can’t-miss vendors who will be bringing their delectable bites to Citi Field this weekend.
RISE Brewing Co.
Nitro cold brew coffee company RISE Brewing Co. is a must-try for anyone who plans on coming to the festival to see the opening acts and staying all the way through the headliner. Their creamy, smooth cold brew coffee comes in a variety of latte flavors including vanilla and mocha with oat milk. For something on the more sweet side, try their cold brew affogato float with vanilla ice cream.
Arancini Bros
For a quick bite that will satisfy all of your food cravings, look no further than Arancini Bros. A long-time staple of Gov Ball’s food lineup, Arancini Bros offers bite-size risotto balls with a variety of fillings including ragu sauce with peas and mozzarella, basil pesto, and mozzarella, and dessert arancini covered with cinnamon sugar and stuffed with apple pie filling.
Walter's Hot Dogs
Hailing from Mamaroneck, NY is Walter’s Hot Dogs, a beloved hot dog stand where the dogs take center stage with few toppings offered aside from mustard and ketchup. Try this iconic food truck in NYC while you can.
Music
After a year and a half long hiatus, Gov Ball has pulled out all the stops with their music acts. Billie Eilish, A$AP Rocky, and Post Malone will headline the festival on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively, with a number of other stellar acts going on earlier in the day. We’ve rounded up a list of the best performers on each day, from stars with smash hits to up-and-coming artists you’ll be able to tell all your friends that you saw first.
