If there’s one thing Andy Cohen loves more than reality TV it’s his dog Wacha. After adopting the beagle-foxhound mix, the Watch What Happens Live host has raved about his new four-legged pal who obviously has his own Instagram account with over 200,000 followers. So, when Cohen was asked to kick off Residence Inn by Marriott's month-long "Dog Days of Summer" pet adoption series, it was a no brainer. We caught up with the Bravo exec at the Bark-Fest and puppy party on August 10, where he dished on his adoption experience, life in NYC with a dog and which Housewife his dog is most like.

Why is partnering with Residence Inn on this series so important to you?
ANDY COHEN: I’m very into animal rescue and I rescued my dog. I’m also into supporting businesses that support animals and people with animals. So, Residence Inn is launching this month-long Dog Days of Summer initiative where they’re partnering with North Shore Animal League to promote animal rescues. They’re also a really dog-friendly hotel, they want you stay there with you dog, and they make it super easy to stay there with your dog.

What was your adoption experience like with your dog Wacha?
AC: I went to North Shore and I also looked on Petfinder and that’s where I found him. He was being flown from West Virginia to New Jersey by this organization called See Spot Rescued. I fell in love with his picture and then I went and met him and he was perfect. He’s really opened my heart. He’s my best friend. He’s my companion. I think about him all the time.

How is he handling NYC life?
Dogs are very adaptable. He loves New York City. We have a whole routine. He has a place in Brooklyn that he goes to. He’s a Brooklyn and West Village dog. He has friends in the neighborhood. There’s a little beagle on the next block, he has a little girlfriend Lulu on 13th Street. He has a whole life.

Do you have a go-to spot with him?
We go to Morandi a lot. They have homemade dog treats there and they bring him a bowl of water. He loves to sit there because there’s a lot of other dogs, it’s great people watching, and he gets to eat the scraps under the table. That’s our main restaurant.

And I just have to ask, if your dog was a Real Housewife, which one would he be?
AC: My dog is Lisa Vanderpump because he’s jokey, he likes to cuddle, and he’s very flirty.
