While everyone loves the holidays in NYC, Switzerland brings the cozy vibes to a whole new level with their world-famous aprés ski experiences full of good company, delicious food and plenty of drinks. Lucky for us, The Peninsula New York, St. Mortiz and the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel have collaborated to launch Chalet de Ning, an immersive Swiss-inspired rooftop experience that brings the notorious winter glitz of St. Moritz, Switzerland straight to Fifth Avenue.
Open through the end of the year, the pop-up is designed to emulate an evening at Paradiso, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s newest restaurant and mountain club that delivers a luxurious après ski experience 6,000 feet up in the Swiss Alps.
St. Moritz knows a thing or two about Alpine resorts, making it the perfect brand to bring an aprés ski experience to NYC. The glamorous winter wonderland is comprised of two mountainside-chalet-inspired domes, each of with are furnished with stylish and Instagram-worthy interiors. A freestanding chimenea on the west-side terrace of The Peninsula New York’s iconic rooftop bar, Salon de Ning, brings all the cozy holiday vibes.
Décor across the rooftop lounge emulates the impeccably chic ski lodge in St. Moritz, with vintage posters, ski equipment, Swiss Alp essentials such as snow shoes and iconic cow bells, snow-topped trees and luxurious furs. The centerpiece of Chalet de Ning is a lighted St. Moritz sun, symbolizing the destination’s 322+ days of sunshine per year.
Guests of Chalet de Ning will be able to indulge in Alpine-inspired delicacies such as truffle fondue with gruyère, fresh truffle, kirsch and sourdough, a smoked trout rillette with celery stalk and rye cracker, and swiss chocolate fondue. Specialty cocktails such as the St. Moritzino with Grey Goose, Cointreau, orgeat syrup and fresh lime, and the Winter Spritz with Aperol, white wine, apple juice and crème de pêche will also be served.
Chalet de Ning is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5PM to midnight and is also available for private events. For event inquiries, reach out to [email protected].
