You jolt up at 8:00 am on a Saturday morning.
Reaching for your Hydroflask feels like the most arduous task in the world.
Mouth dry, head pounding.
You ferociously grab the bottle of Advil like your life depends on it.

If waking up in last night’s makeup doesn’t describe a typical Sunday in Brooklyn, we don’t know what does. The Egg and Cheese Sandwich from this Williamsburg hotspot is the cure to well, just about everything. Maybe not your summer diet, but who can count calories in these trying times? Prepared with Gochujang Aioli, crispy potatoes, melt-in-your-mouth Cheddar, and served on a buttery cloud of heaven (AKA Brioche), this culinary masterpiece is everything we're looking for and more.

If you go to Tompkins Square Bagels for a bagel with schmear, you clearly haven’t done your homework. Yes, an everything seed bagel with scallion cream cheese is delicious, but you can get that at your local bodega in New York City. Kidding, kinda. If you’re ride-or-die foodies like us, you’re ordering the Triple Crown, the epitome of culinary royalty. Made with Canadian bacon, apple smoked bacon, scallion cream cheese, spiced honey maple glaze, egg, and cheese, this outrageous breakfast sandwich will be sure to bring you back to life.

You probably don’t associate Thai with hangover food (unless you’re talking about last week’s Pad Thai), but trust us on this one. The Thai Diner Egg Sandwich is truly one of the most delectable things we have ever tasted. Wrapped in Roti (traditional unleavened bread), and made with egg, cheese, Sai Oua Herbal Sausage, and Thai Basil, this one-of-a-kind breakfast sandwich is revolutionizing our favorite 11 am snack. Don’t roll your eyes at snack, we all know you’re eating at least 5 meals today.

If you frequent the Hamptons, you’re most definitely familiar with Eli’s Market. Lucky for you, the east-end favorite is bringing its famous breakfast sandwich to the streets of NYC. Eli’s Amagansett Egg and Cheese Sandwich on Brioche is the “beloved staple of lazy summer days out east…without the line, and still best for a hangover!” Diners have a choice of American, Cheddar, or Swiss Cheese, as well as bacon, ham, or sausage. If you’re really down bad, swap the Brioche for a Croissant: sweet, velvety, and just a little flakier than your ex.

When in doubt, order the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich from Daily Provisions. This classic, no-frills sandwich is exactly what you need on this type of morning. Prepared with tender pork sausage, ooey-gooey fried egg, and melty American cheese, this hangover remedy is equally as delicious as it is necessary for your survival. As you take your first bite, the juices from the egg and cheese soak into the bread, creating a pillow of succulent flavors.

We know you’re coming here to post a picture of your bagel tower (#basic), but please do yourself a favor and order the Classic Egg Sandwich. Made with fried eggs, the crispiest bacon you ever did eat, and Muenster cheese that coats your palette with salty goodness, this sandwich is arguably one of the best things on the entire menu. And that says a lot, considering the Cobb Salad, Crispy Latkes, Challah French Toast, and Pigs in a Blanket are pretty spectacular, too.

Frankel’s is to breakfast sandwiches as Katz’s is to pastrami on rye. Simply put, Brooklyn’s most popular Jewish deli knows how to spin egg, cheese, and bread into gold. While all of their breakfast sandwiches are top-notch, we are biased towards the ever-so-delicious Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese. Served on their signature Challah roll, the sweet, spongey bread adds a subtle tang of honey to the otherwise savory dish.

Although Murray’s is famous for their Mac & Cheese (shocking, we know), the Breakfast Melt is just as good, if not better. We know that’s an unpopular opinion, so cue the haters! *Rolls eyes* Served on a toasted English muffin, and made with bacon, dripping Fontina cheese, and your choice of sausage or bacon, this sandwich is everything we could have dreamed for and more. You can’t go wrong with sausage or bacon, but we like how the crunch of the bacon offsets the meltiness of the cheese. English Muffin instead of a bun? Power moves only.

We decided to save the best for last. If you love breakfast sandwiches (If you don’t, what are you doing here?!), you must run NOT walk to Egg Shop. And yes we know, you’re tired and cranky and blah blah blah. *Silent Violen plays* Trust us on this one! Egg Shop is the mecca of the breakfast sandwich, and we’re here to pay our respects. While everything on the menu is drop-dead delicious, our favorite is the Egg Shop B.E.C. Made with broke yolk, Vermont White Cheddar, pepper bacon, tomato jam, and pickled jalapeno, this sandwich will rock your world.
