Best Places To Watch The Sunset In The Hamptons

By Amy Rosner By Amy Rosner | July 21, 2021 | Lifestyle

It’s halfway through Hamptons season, and what better way to savor the summer’s lasting moments than with a beautiful sunset? Perfect for a romantic date—cue the wine and sushi—or a moment of self-reflection, we’ve rounded up the prettiest sunset views on the East End.

88 Firestone Road, Montauk/Website

Overlooking Fort Pond Bay, Montauket is notoriously known for its breathtaking sunsets. From lobster rolls and fresh seafood to local beers and specialty cocktails, this casual laid-back spot is perfect for a sunset happy hour with the girls.

Sunset Beach

35 Shore Road, Shelter Island/Website

Unsurprisingly, Sunset Beach has one of the best sunsets on Shelter Island. Indulge in the stunning views from the bar or restaurant, or stay in the boutique hotel’s luxury oceanview rooms and take in the beauty from your window.

Beacon

8 W Water St, Sag Harbor/Website

Located at the Sag Harbor Cove Yacht Club, this upscale American eatery is the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the sunset. Located directly on the water, you don’t need to get up from your seat to experience the beauty. For summer 2021, Beacon has special Sunset Dinners which are $75 for two courses.

Sí Sí

East Hampton’s newest hot spot, Sí Sí, is home to the best Mediterranean food and sunset views in town. Translating to “Yes, Yes”, Sí Sí’s motto is centered around indulging in food, your senses, and saying yes to everything. A restaurant that encourages overeating? That’s a yes, yes, for me.

Duryea’s

Not only does this casual-chic lobster deck serve some of the best Lobster Cobb in town, but it also has the most magnificent sunsets. Inspired by the French Riviera, Duryea’s has sunset views that are a close second to Saint-Tropez and Cannes. I’ll have a lobster roll, with a side of sunset, please!

Bostwicks on the Harbor

39 Gann Road, East Hampton/Website

Famous for having one of the most amazing views in East Hampton, we recommend getting there early if you want to bask in the glorious sunset. To accompany the view, you should definitely order the Clams On the Half Shell, Montauk Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, or if you’re a real seafood lover, the Raw Bar Sampler. We would come here just for the seafood, but the sunset makes the experience 10/10.

Navy Beach

16 Navy Road, Montauk/Website

Don’t be fooled by the name, Navy Beach has one of the most alluring red and orange sunsets we have ever seen. Located on a 200-foot private beach overlooking Fort Pond Bay and Gardiner’s Island, Navy Beach is home to some of the best views in the Hamptons. Designed with nautical decor, Montauk’s most popular beachfront restaurant will instantly transport you to a coastal town far, far away.

Crows Nest

4 Old West Lake Drive, Montauk/Website

This popping Montauk restaurant and inn is the “seen and be seen” place of the summer. People come here for the signature cocktails—we love the Summer Strawberry Punch— but the real star of the night is the cotton candy skies. Grab a seat at one of those cute outdoor tables, and enjoy the show.

The Lobster Roll Aka Lunch

1980 Montauk Hwy, Amagansett/Website

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve heard of this Instagram-famous roadside clam shack. Small but mighty, The Lobster Roll Aka Lunch is the little seafood joint that could. Come here for the Classic Lobster Salad Roll, but stay for the mesmerizing sunsets. Name something better than fresh seafood and the best views off of the Montauk Highway.
