Café Boulud New York, a legendary NYC institution known for its delicious French cuisine, has officially reopened on the Upper East Side. Spearheaded by the renowned Michelin-starred Chef Daniel Boulud, the restaurant now sits at 100 East 63rd Street, a new location for the beloved eatery. The reopening, accomplished alongside the hospitality division of BARNES International Realty, marks a significant milestone for the brand coinciding with its 25th anniversary.
Café Boulud's beating heart is its commitment to culinary excellence, reflected in four key inspirations crafted by chef Boulud: La Tradition, La Saison, Le Potager and Le Voyage. Each menu offers a distinct interpretation, celebrating the classic dishes of French cooking, seasonal specialties, farmer's market-inspired creations, and a rotating showcase of exotic flavors from around the world. respectively.
Under the culinary direction of executive chef Romain Paumier, patrons can expect to find dishes such as glazed sweetbread, roasted Pennsylvania duck, beet ravioli with sheep ricotta, and peekytoe crab soup. Executive pastry chef Katalina Diaz ensures a sweet conclusion to the dining experience with desserts also in line with Chef Boulud’s four key inspirations.
Curated by lead sommelier Victoria Taylor, the wine program complements the culinary offerings with a huge selection diverse selection of over 350 references. Emphasizing organic and biodynamic practices, the wine list is thoughtfully organized by region, mirroring the inspirations found in the food menu.
The culinary experience is elevated by the restaurant's design, envisioned by Jeffrey Beers International. Original black and white tile, vaulted ceilings, and an impressive art program featuring European pieces curated by Galerie Murlot all create a bright and airy ambiance.
