Thoughtfully curated and artisan-inspired, Brooklyn-based jewelry brand Mociun is known for its unconventional elegance and ornate, one-of-a-kind pieces. California-born designer Caitlin Mociun leads the eponymous brand, her style molded by six years of traveling through Europe and Asia, as well as artistic influences such as California’s Light and Space movement of the 1960s. Mociun’s repertoire includes her esteemed handcrafted jewelry creations, as well as a collection of home pieces from up-and-coming artists that embody Mociun’s trademark understated quirk.

Decadent rings adorned with precious gemstones are Mociun’s bread and butter. Caitlin Mociun works closely with clients to create bespoke pieces such as engagement rings that tell a couple’s story. One-of-a-kind pieces are available on Mociun’s website as well. Standouts include an exclusive rendition of her Vega ring setting, which features a deep blue Malawi sapphire surrounded by azure-hued sapphires and diamonds. The Bullet earrings include Oregon sunstones and rubies surrounding a lapis stone like petals on a flower. Mociun incorporates unique elements into her creations, including heterochromatic Sri Lankan bicolor sapphires.

Alongside adorning hands and decolettages with her fine jewelry, Mociun’s curated home goods selection features extraordinary artisan pieces. Mociun began curating a selection of ceramics when she first opened her Williamsburg store in 2012 and slowly grew her store’s collection of home goods over the years. One designer featured by Mociun is Sudan and Somalia native Dina Nur Satti, creator of Nur Ceramics, whose extensive travels and background in African and Middle Eastern studies shaped her inspired pottery.

Highlights from her collection include the Ritual bowl, glazed with white and red iron oxide that produce a blush-toned hue on the bowl’s rim. Mociun and her buyer make an effort to spotlight emerging and rare artists, hoping that their clients discover something new while exploring Mociun’s collection. “Mociun is a visionary space that takes us on a journey,” says Mociun. “As a brand, we support treasure hunters on their search for the rare, the beautiful and the enduring.”
