An evening of fine dining with a heartfelt purpose—Citymeals on Wheels hosted its 27th annual Sunday Supper at Restaurant DANIEL, raising an impressive $1.3 million to provide 130,000 meals for elderly New Yorkers.
The evening was a collaboration between Citymeals on Wheels, Board Chair Chef Daniel Boulud, and a roster of guest chefs showcasing their culinary skills to support this cause. Notably, chefs Mary Attea, Greg Frey Jr., Eunji Lee, and Stéphanie Le Quellec lent their talents to create a memorable experience. Their combined efforts underscored the community’s commitment to supporting older residents, ensuring they remain nourished and connected. The event also recognized individuals for their longstanding support and contributions. Leslie Ziff received accolades for her dedication to the cause, while Florence Fabricant was honored with a Lifetime Achievement award for her decades of support and her distinguished career.

Behind the scenes, nearly 18,000 volunteers contributed over 25,000 hours in the past year, demonstrating a robust community effort. Since its inception in 1981, Citymeals has delivered over 70 million meals, steadfast in its mission to eradicate elder hunger in New York City by 2040. This annual supper, hosted by Chef Boulud for 27 years, has raised more than $16 million towards this goal, symbolizing a legacy of care and compassion in the culinary community.
Guest Chef Greg Frey Jr. (Golden Door, San Marcos, CA) prepared a canapé of spring rabbit & chanterelle mousse, cabbage, herb brioche and black truffle.
