New York City can be overwhelming on even the best of days. The pace of the city alone can be absolutely exhausting. All the more reason to visit Clean Market, a total oasis and haven tucked right in midtown. Clean Market, founded by the amazing Lily Kunin, was created to change the way New Yorkers experience whole health. The modern wellness space is designed to elevate the body and mind through powerful functional healing services. Clean Market is a one-of-a-kind destination that offers a Vitamin IV Drip Lounge, full-spectrum infrared saunas, whole-body cryotherapy, a functional food, and tonic bar, and a Vitality Supplement Market all under one roof.

The Clean Market approach to wellness is rooted in the principles of functional medicine: Energy, Detox, Brain, Immunity, Beauty, Flow, and Gut Health. Top medical staff have curated a selection of treatments and wellness retail products proven to boost energy, promote detox, balance hormones and adrenals, and so much more. The space itself is serene and calming and packed full of your favorite clean health and beauty brands. Stepping into Clean Market one is immediately transported to a safe, calm space. We sat down with Kunin to discuss how she built this incredible wellness sanctuary.

What was the inspiration behind Clean Market?
LILY KUNIN: Clean Market was founded by my own desire to create a one-stop-shop for all things wellness - functional food, medical grade supplements, and services like IV drips, infrared saunas, and cryotherapy. I would often find myself running around the city to find these different things and I wanted to put it all under one roof.

Tell us about your Instagram @CleanFoodDirtyCity and the vision behind it!
L.K: I started @CleanFoodDirtyCity several years ago before Instagram really took off. I’m passionate about cooking and was always freestyling in the kitchen - it served as a food diary to remind myself what I had made and was often just a quick snapshot on the way out the door. I started to receive requests for recipes, and suddenly the blog was born! I’ve continued to share healthy, easy recipes on my Instagram and blog, but it has evolved with my interests and experiences over the last few years to include clean beauty, lifestyle, home, and wellness.

What's your favorite treatment at Clean Market?
L.K: The beauty about our treatments is that they work synergistically, so I’m often getting multiple treatments at once. If I only have a few minutes, I will hop into the cryotherapy chamber for three minutes and get a Super B's Booster shot! If I am starting to feel run down I will relax in the sauna for 30 minutes and get a NutriMMUNITY Drip.

Where do you see yourself and/or your business in 5 years?
L.K: My mission is to make wellness more accessible. I see myself opening more Clean Market stores that are doing just that - connecting communities to leading products and services to help them feel like their best selves. We have lots of exciting plans to expand into e-commerce and Clean Market retail as well!

What's the best part about being a founder?
L.K: The best part about being a founder is feeling like the sky is the limit. It's amazing to be a female entrepreneur in this age of empowered women. It not only provides me with confidence that other women are doing it, but it has created such a supportive environment and encourages me to keep powering forward!
