David Chang's Bar Wayō opens at 89 South St. on Pier 17 in the South Street Seaport.
The eatery, a Japanese-inspired concept blending ideas from the East and West, seats 27 inside at its wraparound with stools while a patio outside seats 50 at communal tables and booths.
While Chang tends to his Netflix shows Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner and the second season of Ugly Delicious, you'll find Sam Kang, the spot's chef de cuisine, in the kitchen. His menu includes a brothy Rhode Island clam chowder, "royale" omelet covered in sausage gravy and mushrooms atop rice, fried calamari dish with dry chiles and nuts and a plethora of sandwiches.
The drinks menu has a range of cocktails from $12 to $18, including a vodka-infused melon soda, a variety of daiquiris (rum and lime, cachaça, lemongrass and lychee) and a Spritz.
The restaurant is open Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. 89 S. Street, Pier 17, New York, 646-517-2645, wayo.momofuku.com
