Cancel your trip to Como—Dedar opened its first showroom stateside.

Since 1976, interior designers in search of sumptuous silks have sourced Dedar. Woven in the traditional silk region of Como, Italy, and sought after by the most discerning (proof: Dedar crafts the textiles and wallpapers for Hermès’ home furnishings collection), the precious product had spotty availability stateside—until now. This year, the brand opened its first U.S. showroom at New York’s Decoration & Design Building. The space, designed by Florentine architect and designer Michele Bönan, pays homage to its new homeland. “The inspiration for the newest House of Dedar comes from the architecture of midcentury American homes built during the 1960s,” says Bönan.
