Since May 2021, Goldentayer’s photo has been sitting on a billboard in Time Square, as the start of her #MOVETOMIAMI campaign. With the recent influx of Northeasterners moving to the Sunshine State, Goldentayer took advantage of this opportunity to market herself towards those looking to move. And she believes that the amount of individuals relocating is not slowing down anytime soon.
We sat down with Goldentayer to learn all about Miami’s recent real estate surge and what you need to know before moving to Miami.
What do you think is enticing Northeasterners to move to Miami?
Their initial motivation to move to South Florida is politically and financially driven, but they end up staying because of the lifestyle. With remote work being the new normal, and so many big tech and finance companies relocating here, it’s a no brainer.
Miami is really having a moment, which I believe is long overdue. The city is no longer seen as just a destination, it’s a world-class city to live and work.

For new residents coming from New York what is a go-to area that you would suggest for someone still looking for that same sense of community and walkability?
The Venetian Islands, Sunset Islands and North Bay Road all offer some of the most beautiful waterfront homes in Miami Beach, with walkability to Sunset Harbour known for boutique shopping, classic restaurants, fitness options galore, and top grocery stores like Fresh Market.
Are you seeing any trends with New York buyers?
Post-COVID, people want more. Whether it be more land to annex to their property or the unit next-door in a condo building to combine with.
Last year there was a large influx of New Yorkers calling Miami home, what is your prediction for this upcoming season?
Californians will be a main source of competition to Northeastern buyers. Their state politics and tax policies being the driving force for the decision to re-domicile. West Coast buyers are less focused on getting a deal (they’re even prepared to pay above ask), which is not a part of a New Yorkers DNA. I see another season of high demand and low supply especially for gated locations, properties with sunset views, and oversized parcels.
Do you have any listings right now that you think are calling New Yorkers names?
I have a compound in Coral Gables, 6801 Granada that is the ultimate escape with 2 acres of land and 600 feet of water frontage plus a tennis court. In South of Fifth, my Apogee Residence 504 is a Manhattanites dream because you truly do not need a car when you live in SoFi.
What was the motivation behind your #MOVETOMIAMI Time Square Billboard?
Now more than ever, the focus is on digital marketing. I definitely dedicate more time and resources to my Instagram (@goldendina) than any other marketing platform. I thought to go old school with a billboard, while adding a modern twist using the hashtags #MOVETOMIAMI and my trademark #STEPINSIDEWITHME, so it could live on digital too. Times Square is a symbol of American pride, and as Russian immigrant, it is symbolic for me.
