Founded in 1975, ESP Guitar Company has been an important name in quality electric guitars and basses for decades. The company has recently announced its first set of NFTs; the three debut designs memorialize ESP USA’s guitars from their recent limited-edition Pyrograph Series. Using motion artwork, 30 pieces of the M-I FR-DLX Skulls & Crows, M-II HARDTAIL Great Wave, and TE-II HARDTAIL Snake Skin guitar NFTs will each be available for $100 each.
“Since the start of ESP, our customers have included many musicians who appreciate collecting rare instruments and music memorabilia,” says Matt Masciandaro, president and CEO of the ESP Guitar Company. “The Pyrograph NFTs are perfect for anyone who wants to have verifiable ownership of collectible art that’s based on some of our most intricate guitar designs ever.”
The artwork on each guitar was meticulously applied using multiple forms of technology, like custom pyrography tools and magnifying lenses. Acclaimed artist Dino Muradian first learned the art from his grandfather and creates every piece by hand.
The NFTs have been produced in collaboration with Fanaply, a developer that has paved the way for eco-friendly NFTs in the music, sports, and entertainment industries.
In 2021 alone, Fanaply has launched NFTs for Grammy-nominated artist SZA, multiple NASCAR racing and NHL teams, American Express, and the Kentucky Derby among others. The company’s NFTs’ environmentally friendly component stems from their innovative technology that dramatically reduces energy consumption. Fanaply is now 100% carbon neutral thanks to their partnership with Offsetra.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing limited-edition digital assets to ESP’s fans and customers,” said Grant Dexter, co-founder and CEO of Fanaply. “NFTs offer innovative companies like ESP a new and creative outlet in which to offer fans additional visions of their creative minds while offering fans true digital ownership for the first time. We’re so excited to celebrate these amazing guitar designs in digital form. Our NFTs are built for real music fans, and they are inclusive and environmentally friendly!”
Thanks to Fanaply’s philosophy of accessibility, the NFTs can be purchased with credit and debit cards. The three designs are available here.
