Roche Bobois celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic Mah Jong sofa in style. To honor this milestone, the brand launches three beautiful new versions of the couch designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, Missoni, and the late Kenzo Takada, as part of the Fall/Winter 2021 Collection.

The new collection will be available in showrooms in September 2021, but head on over to the U.S. flagship showroom to get a sneak peek of this highly-anticipated piece!
Designed by Hans Hopfner in 1971 and "dressed" over the years by haute couture fashion designers and renowned artists alike, the iconic piece has received praise over the years from top designers in the industry and celebrity clientele, such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Norma Kamali, and Gigi Hadid.
Norma Kamali At Home
Since its inception in 1971, the Mah Jong has played a major role in the dialogue between design, fashion, and contemporary art.
Gigi Hadid’s Apartment
Although this sofa has withstood the test of time, it continues to indisputably influence contemporary home culture.
This long-standing acclaim has resulted in the recent collaboration with renowned architecture and design firm Rockwell Group for the 93rd annual Academy Awards.
David Rockwell chose Roche Bobois and the iconic outdoor Mah Jong sofa upholstered in Missoni fabric as the backdrop for the lavish outdoor interview gardens at Union Station for the exclusive event earlier this year.
As part of the much-anticipated Fall/Winter collection, Roche Bobois was proud to collaborate with designer Eugeni Quittlet for the first time. Having previously collaborated with the world-famous creator, designer, and architect Philippe Starck, Quittlet transcends simple relationships between function and style to unveil innovative furniture pieces for the PULP Collection.
The collection consists of a complete ensemble of dining tables and chairs inspired by biomorphism, presented in lacquer and wood.
