Beloved brand Herschel Supply has dominated through its online presence and wholesale ever since they were founded back in 2009. Now, the brand opens its first-ever brick-and-mortar in the U.S. in none other than NYC's Flatiron.
The store’s location could hardly get better, as it sits right where the iconic Flatiron Building splits Broadway and Fifth Avenue, placing the store right off of Madison Square Park and next to Eataly. The Flatiron expansion marks the beginning of the brand’s ambitious retail expansion, which will continue through 2023.
The 138 Fifth Avenue store boasts a whopping 2,500 square feet of retail space, where it offers the products customers have come to know and love. Co-founders Jamie and Lyndon Cormack worked with Herschel’s in-house design team, including lead designer Rye Johnson, to create the store’s customer experience. Expect to find an oversized LED screen highlighting the latest campaign imagery upon entering the store, followed by vibrantly colored walls and a juxtaposition of mixed materials. Old meets new in reclaimed oak tables, glass-blown Bocci lights, vintage furniture and tile-wrapped dressing rooms.
The brand’s Artist in Residence program includes a large-scale gallery wall and lounge space, which artists will use to expand their rotating installations. A 1,200-square-foot space above the main floor will be used for community events. The store will offer one of the largest collections of Herschel products in the world, including fan favorites such as the bestselling backpack collection and everyday essentials such as wallets. Since 2009, Herschel has become known for its incredible bags and has since built upon the brand’s momentum through one-of-a-kind collaborations and category expansions, which will also be on display in-store. Newly launched apparel line Herschel Supply Uniform will be available, as well as luggage, duffles and accessories.
