Heyday Brings Their Cult CBD Facial to New York City

By Christina Najjar | April 29, 2019 | Lifestyle

When we’re looking for a moment to rebalance, reset, and relax, we’re big fans of reaching for CBD. Which is why we were so excited to learn skin specialists Heyday are bringing their CBD facial to New York City. After the success of Heyday’s Back to Balance facial in LA, they were excited to bring it east!

“There’s a lot of buzz around CBD right now!” Skin Therapist Jenna Walsh says. “The Heyday team is excited to add this entirely new component to the Heyday facial to chill and rebalance from the inside-out. It’s 50 meditative minutes of giving your skin and mind the opportunity to exhale and recover from stress. The 50 Minute CBD Facial ($125) is as close to a vacation as you can get without going anywhere!”

Heyday is excited about how the facial gives them time to educate their clients on this powerful and now-popular ingredient, gives them a space to learn about it and experience it with experts, and that they get to partner with a CBD brand that prioritizes high-quality products and educating consumers on what is quickly becoming a wellness staple.

Mowellens is a California-based CBD wellness company. After Mowellens founder, Amy Duncan, studied the laboratory testing behind clean, pure cannabis products as Chief Operating Officer at a genetics laboratory, she stepped away to start Mowellens. In her personal life, she learned first hand about the benefits of cannabis helping her husband after being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. The mission began to combine her background in the healthcare and biotech industries to develop lab-tested, clean, natural hemp-derived CBD products that provide results you can see and feel.

“We’re really excited about working with Mowellens because Amy comes from a biochemistry background, so she’s really done her technical homework on CBD,” Skin Therapist Ava Lemons says. “She’s developed really clean products that are a great intro for someone new to CBD.”

Her products and formulas are super thoughtful. They’re 100% free of pesticides, additives, synthetic compounds, sulfates, phthalates, parabens, GMOs, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, artificial fragrances and colors, titanium dioxide, and residual solvents. That was a mouthful, but Amy has really put the work in to bring out the benefits of CBD and give consumers a truly pure experience.

CBD is like your best friend. It supports you, brings you back to balance when you’re getting a little flustered, and makes you better. Technically speaking, it’s rich in antioxidants and is a naturally high source of vitamins A, D, and E. It also has tons of essential fatty acids that, like omega 3 and G, which are important for the overall health and appearance of skin.

“While there is still a lot of research on the whole body effects of CBD, when it comes to skincare, it promotes a sense of well-being and is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals,” Skin Therapist Jenna Walsh confirms. And when applied to the skin, CBD acts as an optimizer, amplifying the beneficial active ingredients of other products and allowing them to penetrate deeper into the skin. And honestly, it just makes you feel so relaxed.

Clients will be able to take home all three products we use from Mowellens, as well as some of the products we’ll be using to enhance the facial experience, including Naturopathica and One Love Organics. You won’t be able to take home our experts’ amazing facial massage but since the facial will be here for the season, you can come back for another one!
