Looking to own a piece of New York history? Ian Schrager, a fixture in local nightlife and real-estate development since he rose to fame as the co-owner and co-founder of Studio 54, just listed his West Village apartment for $9.95 million.

The spacious condo was built in 2001 and boasts expansive views of the Hudson River and New York City skyline via floor-to-ceiling glass windows. It was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier, designer of the Getty Center and a member of ‘The New York Five’ known for his distinctive white, modernist buildings.

The building is one of a trio of glass towers Meier designed along the West Village waterfront. The other buildings are located at 173 Perry and 165 Charles.

Schrager’s unit is situated in the heart of the West Village at 176 Perry Street, and the building has drawn a number of A-List celebrity residents over the years, including Nicole Kidman, Calvin Klein, Hugh Jackman, Martha Stewart and Jim Carrey. The condominium’s shared amenities include a fitness center and room service from Jean-Georges’ Perry St restaurant located on the ground floor of the tower.

Schrager’s 3,700-square-foot, three-bedroom, five-bathroom home in the sky spans an entire floor and is flooded with natural light. The bright and airy feeling emanates through the open floor plan of the living room and dining area. The primary suite features a dressing room as well as a soaking tub and separate shower in the bath. Other notable features include a balcony off the great room and a gallery wall in the entry hall perfect for displaying prized art pieces.

Schrager is best known for his involvement in the legendary New York City nightclub Studio 54, the most famous and exclusive club in the 1970s and early 1980s, as well as his subsequent imprisonment following an IRS investigation into Studio 54’s finances.
