Ice Spice’s Met Gala ensemble may have been put together “ super last minute,” but that didn’t stop the Bronx rapper from turning heads.
Trading her signature orange curls for long, pressed tresses, Ice Spice wore a white longsleeved Balmain gown, which was completed by impressive baby pink nails and a rhinestone camera.
“I'm just so grateful. I'm so happy to be here. I was really nervous approaching the carpet,” she admitted to Vogue host La La Anthony. “Once I heard everybody screaming, I felt better.”
The modesty of the mock neck was complemented by tasteful cutouts along the body and sleeves of the sparkling dress. What’s more, the “Princess Diana” singer elevated her sense of elegance with a dramatic side bang swoop that cascaded with the rest of her hair down to her waistline.
Right in her own New York City hometown, 2023 marks Ice Spice’s first time at the Met Gala. The industry milestone is a highlight of her successful year as she climbed from going viral on TikTok to climbing the Billboard charts. She kicked off the year with the release of her debut EP, Like…?, which reached the No. 15 spot on the Billboard 200 last week.
Her fame ascent properly began with the release of “Munch” in August 2022.
Ice Spice’s invite to the fashion’s most exclusive party comes upon the artist’s recently announced partnership with eBay and Vogue. In honor of the Met Gala, she has teamed with online retailer and fashion publication to curate a collection of rare and unique authentic designer pieces.
“We’re going to have a party tonight,” Ice Spice said.
