Holiday Stress? Visit the Juhi Center

By Christina Najjar | December 19, 2018 | Style & Beauty

Nestled just off Lexington Avenue is an oasis of calm from New York City. The Juhi Center is a total wellness paradise, designed to heal you holistically from the inside out. Founder Juhi Singh, told us, “The center is made up to the top hand-selected medical professionals from all over the world. The center is modeled off of my success with combating illness integrating western and eastern medicine with communication and empowerment between practitioners and patients.”

The Juhi Center specializes in wellness for the mind, body, and soul. Top onsite practitioners offer multiple services such as; Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and Acupuncture. The center has an exclusive Himalayan Salt Room that detoxifies the body from pollutants as well as a new Bemer Copper mat that increases blood flow.

The Juhi Center is the go-to place for professional athletes and models and industry people, including Winnie Harlow, Carine Roitfeld, and more. After life-threatening complications with Crohn's disease as an adolescent, Juhi's mother turned to her sister in India to help her heal. That would be Juhi's first encounter with acupuncture and though Crohn's is a lifelong ailment, her symptoms were soon cured and she was free to live a normal life. It was that single experience that led Juhi to veer from her dreams of western medicine to eastern practices.

“When I was 16 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s and colitis- an inflammatory disease of the intestines causing unbearable abdominal pain, improper digestion, ulcers accompanied by internal bleeding and severe weight loss. I was treated by well-trained physicians who kept me alive on high doses of medication. That only helped for so long, and at 19, after the drugs weren’t effective anymore, the only solution being offered to me was a colostomy. Hearing this, my parents consulted my aunt, who was an eastern medicine doctor. I moved to India for two months and was put on a strict Ayurvedic diet and acupuncture plan. In those two months I was in remission. Just like that. Not only have I defeated the disease, I was inspired and shifted my studies from western to eastern medicine. I wanted my patients to know all the options that are available to them.” Juhi said.

Singh, L.Ac. is an Oriental Medicine Specialist, Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist, and has been featured on CNN, ABC, Forbes, and at the Emmys, Oscars and Cannes Film Festival in recognition of her work as a health and wellness expert. Rapidly emerging as a new face of holistic living, Juhi is a thought leader in the field of acupuncture, pioneering her Facial Rejuvenation Program and the Acu-Facelift, a nonsurgical natural alternative method for facelifts, as well as Therapeutic Yoga, utilizing acupuncture and acupressure to promote healing. Juhi’s clients range from professional athletes to Fortune 500 corporations, who rely on her skilled expertise to keep their health and performance running at optimal levels. Juhi has a B.A. in Psychology concentrating in Biology and an M.A. from the Pacific College of Chinese Medicine.

Most recently Juhi has worked with top physicians treating high performance athletes from MLB, NFL and NBA. She has also devised a program of Therapeutic Yoga whereby acupuncture and acupressure points and meridians are correlated with specific yoga poses to promote relief and healing. She has applied such techniques during her extensive travels across the developing world, where she trains native medical practitioners from MDs to medicine men on low cost, high impact natural medicine.

Juhi not only has an incredible facility, but also an A-List team, such as Masseuse Melissa Gasson. Melissa is a licensed massage therapist and has more than 10 years of experience with athletes including the NFL and NBA. With her wealth of experience, Melissa specializes in healing athletic and local injuries, not limited to hamstrings, back pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis. Her reputation has garnered an exclusive, referral-only business of A-list clientele.“Having a nurse for mother and a father who was active in business and entrepreneurship taught me the importance of being nurturing and healing as well as busy-savvy and street smart. After years of experience and education, I created Amalgam Therapy- a treatment of eastern and western modalities, including swedish massage, cupping, gua sha, sports massage, and assisted movements. As someone who tries to heal with her hands, I also embrace a positive attitude and healthy lifestyle and encourage those around me to do the same.” Melissa told us.

The center is perfect for every level of de stressing and healing. Juhi has truly created a paradise within the heart of New York City.
