In the space that once occupied French eatery Le Turtle, actor Justin Theroux has opened Ray’s, an American-styled pub with the ambition of becoming one of the city’s hottest bars.
The retro interiors and ambiance—Ray’s wood paneled walls, old school red bar stools and period jukebox—offer customers a bit of nostalgia as they’re transported back in time at this 70s-inspired watering hole.
Theroux tapped Golden Age Hospitality’s Jon Neidich, Taaco Somer and Carlos Quirarte, restaurant vets whose New York City spots already include Acme and Freeman’s, to assist with the project.
Come with a few cocktail suggestions in mind as there is no drink menu to order from. Ray’s is open daily from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Ray’s, 177 Chrystie St., Manhattan
