The Governors Ball, an annual New York City music festival, has announced this year’s star-studded lineup: Kid Cudi, Halsey, and J.Cole will headline.
After the city’s Covid-19 induced hiatus from crowds, New Yorkers are certainly enthusiastic to participate in live music events once again.
Truthfully, New Yorkers secretly miss jumping to catch glimpses of the stage in sweaty crowds. It is an NYC youth rite of passage.
The festival will take place over the course of three days, running from June 10th through 12th. Citi Field, a staple of the Queen’s borough, will be this year’s venue.
The major performance stages will be centered in the middle of the site, creating an accessible, unique 360-degree experience.
This annual NYC event, which debuted in 2011, was traditionally held on Randall’s Island. The tenth annual GovBall would have taken place in June of 2020, if it were not for the onslaught of pandemic-induced cancellations.
Instead, the tenth anniversary of GovBall was held at Citi Field this previous September 2021. Billie Eilish, A$AP Rocky, and Post Malone headlined the festival.
Besides the heavyweight headliners, this year’s lineup of performers will include the infamous Migos, TikTok’s favorite, Jack Harlow, and the Indie sweetheart, Clairo. A total of sixty musicians will be performing — and we can’t wait to see each one.

Art fanatics will also enjoy GovBall’s artistic ambiance.
“Massive shipping containers are stacked, painted, and remodeled as art installations throughout the site, creating a unique street art aesthetic that screams NYC,” reads the website.
Certainly, everyone from the New York metropolitan area will be flocking to Citi Field this upcoming June.
