As if the Kardashian empire hasn't surpassed our expectations already, Kim Kardashian’s shapewear line Skims will be the official underwear of the U.S. Olympic Team. The $1.6 billion shapewear brand will provide underwear, pajamas, and loungewear for team USA athletes at the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Kardashian family are no strangers to the Olympic games. Ms. Kardashian’s stepfather, Caitlyn Jenner, was championed as “The World’s Greatest Athlete” 45 years ago, when she won a gold medal in the decathlon event at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.

Ms. Kardashian announced the Team USA x Skims collaboration on Monday through her social media platform.
“Ever since I was 10 years old, I’ve heard every single detail about the Olympics from my stepdad,” Ms. Kardashian wrote in her Instagram post. “When I received the call inviting Skims to be a part of Team USA, every moment I spent admiring the strength and energy of the Olympians from the sidelines came full circle.”
The exclusive collection includes shirts, vests, sports bras, cycle shorts, and high-waisted briefs with prints of American flags, the five Olympic rings, and Team USA branding. Lucky for us, the designs will be made available for sale as a limited-edition collection starting in Mid-July.
Ms. Kardashian can really do it all. First a reality star, then an entrepreneur, and a designer-turned-billionaire, we celebrate her for making space for female athletes in an arena that is historically dominated by men.
The all womenswear collection makes a powerful statement that women are world-class athletes and Olympic icons, too. Thank you KKW for challenging stereotypes surrounding female athletic ability, and of course, doing so in style.
KK’s collection is also paving the way for a new sector of shapewear and undergarments for disabled bodies. Simultaneously, it breaks the prevalent stigma around able-bodiedness and athleticism.
Queen Kardashian may not be an Olympic athlete, but she sure deserves a medal.
