The 2024 Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced its exhibit for 2024: 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.'

'Sleeping Beauties' will "reactivate the sensory capacities of masterworks in the museum's collection through first-hand research, conservation analysis, and diverse technologies—from cutting-edge tools, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and computer-generated imagery to traditional formats of x-rays, video animation, light projection, and soundscapes," according to the museum.
Around 250 garments and accessories, representing a span of four centuries, will be displayed as part of an exhibition. These items will be visually linked by the theme of nature.
Next year's Met Gala, which celebrates the opening of the Costume Institute's new exhibition, will take place on May 6, 2024.
The 2023 exhibit honored the late Karl Lagerfeld with 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty.'
