Gotham magazine is proud to partner with Miracle on Madison Avenue and The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering to raise funds for
cancer research.
Miracle on Madison Avenue, one of New York City’s most distinctive and beloved philanthropic initiatives, now celebrating its 29th anniversary, will take place this year on
Saturday, December 5. Nearly 80 prestigious brands and retailers on a street synonymous with luxury worldwide will welcome shoppers who want to join them in giving back. Participants on
Madison Avenue between 57th and 86th Streets will donate 20 percent of their sales proceeds on December 5 to The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering (with a maximum contribution of $15,000
per retailer). This will be the fourth year Miracle on Madison Avenue, produced by the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (madisonavenuebid.org), has donated funds for the pediatric initiatives of MSKCC. Last year, over $160,000 was raised to benefit the organization.
On Miracle on Madison Avenue shopping day, Lavinia Snyder, president of The Society of MSK, will join Emmy Award–winning TV star, lifestyle personality, and philanthropist
Sandra Lee, who is special ambassador for the event, along with the event committee members of The Society of MSK Muffie Potter Aston, Nina Carbone, Leslie Coleman, Judy Cox, Caroline Los
Arcos, Amanda Meigher, Jennifer Oken, Elizabeth Pyne, and Caryn Zucker, and Gotham Magazine editors to greet shoppers in participating boutiques. Carolers and choirs will serenade
the crowds with holiday favorites up and down the avenue, refreshments will be served, and the warm glow of goodwill will be shared by all. Celebrating Madison Avenue’s unique
shopping experiences and its enduring support of Memorial Sloan Kettering, Gotham is delighted to have an exclusive opportunity to showcase the very best of holiday retail—spanning
fashion, jewelry, beauty, fragrance, objets d’art, and home décor items— all wrapped in the spirit of giving.
