New York City is one of the most stylish spots on Earth. What New Yorkers wear has the power to set trends, break barriers and turn heads, so of course the world wants to know what NYC fashionistas are up to.
The good folks over at eBay know exactly what New Yorkers are up to—or at least what we’re searching for and ultimately buying. The online retailer does a lot of business in the luxury resale market, and therefore offers an authenticity guarantee for all handbags, watches, sneakers, trading cards and most recently wallets priced at $500 or more.

Recently, eBay took a deep dive into its user data to see what luxury bags, handbags and timepieces were the most popular among New Yorkers throughout the year of 2021. So, what designers reign supreme in the streets of NYC?

All the usual suspects are there—Coach, Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and more—but what people search for the most versus what they buy the most is not always the same.
For instance, in the realm of handbags, Gucci, Chanel, Coach and Louis Vuitton were searched more than any other brands, but when it came time to make the sale final, Michael Kors, Prada and Marc Jacobs popped up on the list.
When it comes to specifics, New Yorkers can’t get enough of the Coach Backpack and the Louis Vuitton Damier. The Louis Vuitton Neverfull was one of the top searched and sold bags, as well, and the Versace Medusa was another popular choice when sealing the deal.

The Rolex family of watches seems to be a New Yorker’s favorite, though there were a lot of searches for the Omega Seamaster 300. The Tag Heuer Aquaracer was another popular option among searches and purchases, too, a timepiece that’s considered a great buy for entry-level divers.
