In the mood for American-Chinese cuisine, classic all-American diner food, sweet and savory Danish pastries, and a whole lot of ice cream? Look no further. Gotham Guide has you covered!

Nice Day

Craving the perfect blend of American and Chinese Food? This popular new-gen Chinese takeout restaurant is the place for you. Nice Day debuts an entirely new menu at its flagship location in Greenwich Village. Menu standouts include cheeseburger egg rolls, shrimp toasties, Real Deal crab rangoon (the “it” food of 2021), and Impossible Dan Dan noodles.
Take a bite of the crispy General Tso’s chicken sandwich and you are guaranteed to have a nice day. This reimagined fast-casual restaurant pays homage to American influence on traditional Chinese cuisine, and vice versa. Don’t sleep on the cornerstone of reinvented Chinese-American cuisine in lower Manhattan.
Old John's

Last Fall, many New Yorkers said goodbye to Old John’s, a 70-year old UWS landmark that paved the way for future classic American diners. Ladies and gents, it’s time to wipe away your tears. Old John's is back and better than ever on Wednesday, June 23rd!
The menu of American comfort fare and diner classics will feature updated takes on Old John’s favorites for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and of course, save room for dessert. Old John’s veterans are eagerly awaiting for buttermilk blueberry pancakes, a Fried Morty Egg Sando with fried mortadella, baked egg, and fontina cheese, Disco Fries with pickled red onions, gravy and mozzarella, and the famous My Momma’s Meatloaf with potato puree, brown butter, and almonds.
Familiar and unfussy, Old John's is the perfect place for a greasy late night, a quick run-in for coffee, or a muffin on-the-go.

For all you native Manhattanites who don’t want to schlep to Brooklyn, today is your lucky today. Brooklyn Kolache is bringing their from-scratch sweet and savory handmade pastries to the big apple with the opening of their second location in Greenwich Village.
Being the only Kolache bakery in Manhattan, this bakery is truly one of its kind. For those of you unfamiliar with this delicious Czech-origin Texan pastry, Kolaches are made of yeast dough and filled with an array of savory and sweet fillings, such as fruit, jams, poppy seeds, cheese, sausages, eggs, etc.
If you want to expand your horizons (and your palette), Brooklyn Kolache is the new place to be.
Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur X OddFellows Ice Cream Co

In celebration of pride month, Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur and OddFellows Ice Cream Co have partnered up to create a non-alcoholic, colada-flavored, limited-edition soft serve. The ice cream is covered with edible glitter and rainbow candy to show support for the LGBTQ+ community.
The Baileys X OddFellows collab will be held exclusively at OddFellows scoop shops in Dumbo and Williamsburg Domino park, and for a limited time only. Mark your calendars and head over to Brooklyn anytime between Tuesday June 22nd and Saturday June 26th. Maker Hotel

The Maker Hotel, an exclusive 11-room property In Hudson, New York, just launched new menus at The Maker Restaurant, The Maker Cafe, the Maker Lounge, and the Juice Bar and Ice Cream Cart.
The Maker Restaurant is a more high-end seasonally-driven establishment, while the Maker Cafe is better suited for a quick cup of coffee and a pastry. Head over to the Maker Lounge for an intimate cocktail bar experience, or the Ice Cream Cart for a refreshing After Dark Chocolate Taco starting July 4th weekend.
Although the Maker eateries each have their own style and flavor, they are connected through the common thread of executive chef and culinary director, Michael Poiarkoff. Chef Michael prides himself on personally hand-selecting all of his ingredients, including livestock, whole fish, and edible flowers from his personal garden. Hudson's Maker Hotel is on fire, and we’re loving every minute of it!
