March is now in full swing and spring is right around the corner. The weather in New York City seems to be warming, and the sun is coming out to greet us more often to. Now is the perfect time to safely dine outdoors, if you’re feeling up for it.
Celebrate the changing temps at a new restaurant, or by trying a celebratory special. From fast-casual Chinese at Chinah, to Chikarashi Isso pop up's omakase, there are plenty of creative ways to satisfy your taste buds.

Chinah is a fast-casual Chinese food experience set to open March 10 in the Financial District. They'll serve a variety of Chinese dishes, from Kung Pao Chicken and other well-known staples, to a signature combo called Grandma’s favorite which consists of homemade meatballs, tomato, egg, seasonal greens and forbidden black rice. Chinah will be open for takeout and delivery.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Brooklyn’s Black, female-founded premium mixers have partnered with four other female-owned spirit brands. Beginning March 8, AVEC teams with Harlem’s HH Bespoke Spirits, Upstate’s Harridan Vodka, 21 Seeds Tequila and Uncle Nearest Whiskey to launch special bundles and cocktail recipes, all of which are available for nationwide shipping through ReserveBar through the month. Innovative sushi shop MakiMaki launches HomeChef, a build-your-own sushi kit that allows customers to create restaurant-quality sushi at home. MakiMaki offers a Shabu-Shabu kit to make Japanese hot pot at home, too. Kits include everything from your choice of salmon, yellowfin tuna, crab meat and other proteins, as well as sides such as avocado, cucumber, scallion and ingredients for fluffy sushi rice. Local and nation-wide delivery are currently available via their website.

Kuxé, the latest concept from chef Julian Medina and restauranteur Louis Skibar, is set to open March 10. Named after the indigenous Totonac Mexican word for corn, Kuxé celebrates the roots, traditions and childhood upbringings of those who work in the restaurant. Dishes include tacos, steamed lamb, pork ribs and more available for delivery via Grubhub, DoorDash, Caviar and Uber Eats. Reservations can be made on OpenTable.

The Chikarashi Isso team launched a seasonal pop-up last November on the second-floor terrace of Hotel 50 Bowery. Now, it's back once again for full service. Chef Atsushi “ATS” Kono, formerly of Yakitori Torishin, prepares a multi-course, kappo-style yakitori omakase, including one to two amuse bouche, four starters, nine pc yakitori, noodles and dessert. Their weather-proofed pagoda-inspired structures allow for outdoor dining through spring and summer. Reservations can be made online.
