Just when we thought summer might last forever, a chill is finally in the air in New York City. With the new season comes a bevy of new restaurants and menu updates just waiting for you to try them all.
This week sees exciting new restaurant openings including a Danish coffeehouse and the limited-time resurrection of a classic East Village bar, as well as a new weekly burlesque show at a Times Square taco joint.

Beloved Danish coffee company La Cabra, a supplier to Michelin-starred restaurants throughout Denmark with outposts in Bangkok and Dubai, has officially made its debut in the United States. The East Village cafe serves lightly roasted coffee shipped directly from Copenhagen using a method of roasting that stands out from typical New York coffeehouses. In addition to their menu of pour-overs, cold brew, and espresso drinks, La Cabra’s menu features affordable sandwiches and pastries.

Ah, happy hour, a time to savor the moment after the workday ends and before dinner. Celebrate the Italian art of the aperitivo at Chef Alfred Portale’s eponymous Chelsea restaurant with the launch of their new happy hour Tuesday through Friday from 5pm to 6:30pm. The drinks menu features inspired cocktails including the “Ciao Bella” with aperol, beet shrub and prosecco and the “Negroni Portale” with monopolowa gin, carpano antica, berto bitters, and orange. Be sure to try the small bites including cacio e pepe fritti, taco italiano and polpetta sliders.

Amor Loco, a new Mexican fusion restaurant from the team behind Toro Loco, has now opened in Times Square. This new destination is the perfect spot to grab dinner before (or cocktails after!) a Broadway show, or indulge in a weekend bottomless brunch. This weekend marks the debut of Amor Loco’s “Loco Friday,” a series of evening burlesque shows that are sure to delight. Stop in today, October 4th, to enjoy a number of specials in honor of National Taco Day.

Think you’ve seen it all at Chelsea Market? Think again, as the venue has just debuted a new series of art exhibitions on rotation at their outdoor dining structure on 10th Avenue. The venue has partnered with Street Lab, an organization dedicated to supporting talented local artists who have received grants from the City Artist Corps, to display work from artists including David Straange, Song Rao, Daniel Harrel, and more through October 10th.

PKNY (formerly known as Painkiller), everyone’s favorite Lower East Side bar from the 2010s, is officially reopening for one weekend only. Cutwater Spirits, a pioneer of the canned cocktail revolution, is bringing back the original PKNY bar team for two nights only at a tropical cocktail pop-up in Brooklyn. Stop by on October 7th or 8th to celebrate PKNY’s resurrection, where 100% of sales will benefit Another Round, Another Rally, a nonprofit organization supporting the hospitality industry.

East Village restaurant Noreetuh is here to bring modern Hawaiian cuisine to the New York dining scene. The Michelin-recognized restaurant has just launched a number of new fall specials that remain true to their tropical Hawaiian influence. New menu items include a Kalua pork egg roll, oxtail soup, Japanese Kanpachi Crudo, and 30-day dry-aged beef ribeye. Be sure to check out the extensive wine list, which has won the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence four years in a row.
