Summer is right around the corner, and New York City seems to get better and better each day. Vaccinations are on the rise, and restaurants are inching near full capacity. It's easier than ever to support our local businesses.
This week, several restaurants open their doors for the first time after COVID-19 quarantine. We also have a “Spring Up!” pop-up by Urbanspace at Bryant Park, a new Chip City location, and Baja-California bites from the brand-new Seeyamañana. From French bistro vibes to pizza and charcuterie, these are the new flavors you've got to try in the Big Apple.

A new underground club has made its way to Chelsea. Opening April 22, Coby Club is inspired by San Francisco’s Chinatown nightlife of the 1960s. Customers can enjoy a variety of plates and beverages, including flatbread pizzetta, ham and swiss croquettes and a charcuterie board. For drinks, try a burnt orange old-fashioned with rye whiskey, or a pineapple paradise with white rum and pineapple puree. The forbidden city is made with gold tequila. Reservations aren’t mandatory but can be made via Resy.

Esme is set to reopen with a new menu of French bistro dishes in a renovated space. Come for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, and on the weekend for brunch. Try the white fish with cauliflower and miso, roasted chicken with caramelized fennel and French fries, or have a few small plates such as burrata with strawberry, rhubarb and spicy granola, or grilled summer squash with smoked ricotta and toast. “Spring Up!” is an immersive dining and shopping experience in Bryant Park, open now through June 20. Urbanspace aims to showcase a mix of cuisines, original art and jewelry from more than 40 local small businesses. Food vendors include Ample Hills ice cream, Smooth Pops and Cheeseboat.

Congrats to cookie empire Chip City, set to open its seventh NYC location in Carroll Gardens on April 23 at 3 p.m. Timing matters, because the first 100 customers will get a free cookie. Chip City also debuts its new seasonal flavor, Lemon Berry, consisting of a shortbread cookie filled with red berry jam, and topped with powdered sugar. This flavor will be available at all seven locations throughout the city.

Serra by Birreria will transport guests to the Italian countryside with a new menu of Spiedini, or “skewers,” pasta dishes, and other plates featuring Wagyu beef. The cocktails will have botanical flavors, inspired by a partnership with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Serra by Birreria is also set to donate a portion of their proceeds to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Children’s Garden all season long.

Seeyamañana is a new Baja California-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar in Nomad. The menu is plant-centric, focusing on fruits, herbs and vegetables, as well as pole-caught fish and free-grazed animal protein options. Indulge in a tostada with brussel sprouts, beet tacos, the birria quesadilla and the vegan chorizo enchiladas. Wash it down with a frozen margarita, frozen mezcal penicillin, a selection of Mexican beers and more. Reservation requests are available online.

Now through April 25, Cutlets and Rubirosa collaborates on a Vodka Chicken Parm sandwich, combining Rubirosa’s famous sauce and the sandwich shop’s classic chicken cutlet. The sandwich is available on a roll or hero at both the Flatiron location and through the pickup and delivery hub in Williamsburg. Orders can be placed online, and it is available on a limited basis each day.
