This week sees more than a few delicious new menus and concepts, from the triumphant return of Manhattan's Public Hotel, to the quirky cocktails at Brooklyn's Grand Army. Enjoy traditional Italian fare from a Michelin-starred chef, Korean-American fusion in Nomad, Chinese-Jamaican inspirations, and more.

Michelin-starred Chef Antonio Salvatore brings his award-winning Monaco flavor to Midtown with the grand opening of Casa Limone. Brooklyn bartenders at Grand Army recognize the brilliance behind the National Treasure star and honor his Oscar-winning chops with a seasonal cocktail menu inspired by his most memorable films. Enjoy a Moonstruck and snap out ofit with local aperitivo spritz with pisco, rhubarb and grapefruit. Face/Off with a glass of Travolta’s favorite pimm’s cup, haitian rum, strawberry, cucumber, ginger and lemon; or get down to business with the Raising Arizona made from a vodka collins with yuzu, toasted sesame and salted plum. Pair your beverage with some oysters, sashimi, king crab or anything else from Grand Army’s food menu.

Recognized by Michelin as a “Bib Gourmand,” Via Vai has served traditional Italian delights to Astoria foodies since 2014. Now, Executive Chef-Owner Antonio Morichini celebrates the summer season with a special Roman Pasta Tasting prix-fixe menu on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Choose from three of four pasta dishes including bucatini all’amatriciana, spaghetti carbonara, paccheri alla gricia and tonnarelli cacio e pepe. For dessert, there’s tiramisu or pannacotta. All this for $40 per person, or $70 per person with the chef’s wine pairing.

Elevate your senses at Barn Joo Nomad, the Korean gastropub that utilizes American techniques and plating to craft a unique dining experience. The new location marks the third for the Barn Joo concept, but this branch puts an emphasis on premium. Try the open roll, served with house-made bone marrow soup and the chef’s soy sauce reduction with pickled ginger chayote. Other favorites include the uni, yellowtail, shiitake and black truffle mushroom, and eel rolls. The tapas-style menu focuses on farm-fresh, seasonal ingredients, and Barn Joo Nomad is set to serve location exclusive menu items such as beef short rib, black squid-ink tagliatelle and more.

After more than a year of lockdown, Ian Schrager’s Public Hotel is back in business. The luxury Manhattan hotel has goodies in store for locals, too, in the form of three new restaurants. Popular is a fusion concept spearheaded by Peruvian chef Diego Muñoz, combining elements of Incan, Spanish, Moorish, African, Italian, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Muñoz is also behind the menu at Cantina & Pisco Bar, where guests can enjoy “live” ceviche made to order, and he teams with NYC chef John Fraser on Louis, a fast-gourmet food bazaar blending Peruvian and NYC street food favorites. Public Hotel reopens Wednesday, June 16.

Starting Wednesday, June 16, Chefs Josh Grinker and Tracy Young welcome Jamaica’s three-time Food Network Chopped champion, Chef Andre Fowles, to collaborate on a limited-edition Jamaican and Chinese fusion menu. Dig into international delights such as the callaloo vegetable pot stickers with sesame chili sauce, Chinese beef patties with five spice, curry shrimp white cloud dumplings with spicy Chinese mustard, and so much more. Yes, there is a take on Jerk Chicken (served with papaya chutney, too).
