Cantina's "Big Ass Burrito" celebrates National Burrito Day on April 1.
Spring is in full swing and it seems this is the happiest the city has been in a whole year. Many New Yorkers are getting vaccinated, and the COVID-19 pandemic is hopefully coming to a close soon. We have a lot to look forward to!
Celebrate with some savory and sweet collaborations, or try one of the new menus at some of our favorite restaurants. This week also welcomes the launch of some virtual concepts and some re-opened classics.
From a Goodsugar pop-up in the East Village to a 15-pound “Big Ass Burrito” at Cantina Rooftop, these are the new tastes you've got to try in New York City this week.

A new virtual concept from NYC Chef Hillary Sterling, Cayenne specializes in Nashville-inspired hot chicken, specifically in hot chicken sandwiches and southern sides serving as comfort food. Cayenne is currently running a March Madness deal, offering $30 customizable chicken buckets with your choice of breasts, thighs or nuggets, and $15 lunch combos of sandwiches, fries and a drink. Ordering is available through UberEats, Seamless, GrubHub and Postmates.

Tipsy Scoop, the novelty liquor-infused ice cream, launched a limited-edition flavor in collaboration with Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey to create Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Whiskey, featuring Tipsy Scoop’s signature vanilla ice cream. The flavor is available in four-pint packs for overnight shipping online, or it can be bought by the pint at Tipsy Scoop locations. Additionally, in honor of National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day on April 2, Tipsy Scoop will give away 100 free pints of the flavor available to be reserved online for in-store pickup.

Virgil’s Real BBQ's Upper West Side location gets a new Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich. Served on a potato bun with chipotle mayonnaise and topped with lettuce, tomato and pickles, this is finger lickin' yum. Cheese and crispy bacon can be added to create the ultimate comfort food.

Mochidoki, NYC’s beloved mochi ice cream brand, celebrates the first birthday of its SoHo location with a limited-edition birthday flavor. Cake Batter is available for locals and shipping across the country through April. Mochidoki is also launching five mochi ice cream creations, including funfetti cake, an ube cannoli, lychee colada, orange ginger carrot and strawberry amaretto cake.

Social Drink and Food opens March 31, and it wants to be your go-to spot for dinner and a movie. For $20, you get a ticket to the show and a $10 food and beverage credit. Goodsugar is a new, organic, plant-based, plastic-free wellness restaurant by Marcus Antebi, the founder of Juice Press. It offers the freshest in organic cooked vegan dishes, hot soups, fresh salads and gluten-free baked goods. Cold pressed juices are mixed and served on-demand, as well.

In honor of National Burrito day on April 1, Cantina Rooftop debuts its “Big Ass Burrito." Weighing in at 15 pounds, it's made with your choice of chicken or hangar steak and stuffed with Mexican rice, chipotle puree, black beans, cheese, lettuce, avocado, radishes, pico de gallo, sour cream and more. The burrito feeds six to eight people and is priced at $80. Reservations can be made online.

Butterfunk Biscuit is now opening at 8 a.m. for daily breakfast. Menu items include two-handed biscuit sandwiches, such as smoked salmon with chive cream cheese and sliced cucumber on an everything biscuit; or sausage, egg and cheese with a Lancaster-style patty. There's also a new avocado toast dish, if you're interested in something lighter.
