Hermès
French design house Hermès is opening its doors to a new Manhattan location, combining its men’s and women’s boutiques on Madison Avenue into one luxurious space. The flagship store is based in the former historical Bank of New York and Trust and will feature the original plaque in the men’s side of the house. Imagined by French architectural firm RDAI, which has been designing Hermès locations across the globe for decades, the immersive destination will house a Champagne bar, coffee bar and rooftop garden. 706 Madison Ave.
Lele Sadoughi
Lele Sadoughi
Vibrant colors adorn the walls of accessories label Lele Sadoughi’s newest boutique in the West Village, where arched display cases lined with the brand’s signature black-and-white stripes take center stage. Renowned interior designer Sasha Bikoff worked her magic on the space, creating a bold, maximalist aesthetic that encourages clients to mix and match pieces. “Lele’s fashion sensibility is feminine, fun and flirty,” Bikoff says. “I wanted her New York City boutique to be a reflection of her bold and colorful designs but also inspired by the vibrant NYC girl.” While in the store, be on the lookout for a New York City-inspired headband adorned with taxi cabs and apple charms. 387 Bleecker St.
Inside the Ilana Kohn boutique
Ilana Kohn
After more than a decade of online success, NYC-based clothing and textiles brand Ilana Kohn has opened its first physical shop on the Lower East Side. CEO and designer Kohn is excited to finally be able to welcome shoppers to an in-person retail experience after moving away from wholesale a year ago. “We were able to bring [the shop] to life with the help of our friend Ryan Brooke Thomas of Kalos Eidos, who helped us to create the perfect white-box, minimal space (yet not too minimal) to act as the backdrop to all the color and texture of our clothes and the creations of our friends.” 57 Orchard St.
