Nicole Kidman brought vintage Chanel to the Met Gala red carpet.
The dress, which Kidman wore in a 2012 Chanel No. 5 commercial directed by Baz Lurhman, was designed by Karl Lagerfeld. And of course, the Met Gala's dress code for the night is "In honor of Karl."
Kidman told red carpet host La La Anthony why she chose to bring this dress back out, citing the timelessness of the couture and to "show the ways these ... gowns last. "There's a whismy to it," she added.
The 2023 Met Gala is celebrating the costume institute's new exhibit "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty."
