Here are all the best Halloween events in New York City for a spooky good time.
Washington Square Park / Website
Year-round, New Yorkers can take nightly tours to see the Village’s most infamous ghosts. On a short, hour-long tour, you may experience possible sightings of the ghosts of Aaron Burr, Edgar Allan Poe and Mark Twain, among others. Be sure to reserve your tickets ahead of time here, meet under the Washington Square Park arch at your designated time and prepare yourself for a spooky evening.
2300 Southern Blvd., The Bronx / Website
A fan favorite for New Yorkers with kids, explore the Bronx Zoo this weekend to get your animal fix. With all sorts of spooky exhibits from the Extinct Animal Graveyard, to Magic & Mind Reading, to a pumpkin carving demo, the zoo is keeping its annual Halloween tradition alive and open Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 1 through 31, and Monday Oct. 10. Ticket reservations can be made online.
435 Richmond Hill Rd., Staten Island / Website
For our Staten Island friends, we suggest checking out Decker Farm in Richmond Town for pumpkin picking and hayrides. Open Saturdays and Sundays from the beginning of October, and Oct. 10, you’re able to visit the patch, learn about 19th-century farm life and taste delectable fall food at the oldest continuously operating small farm in NYC. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., so don’t forget to reserve your ticket ahead of time!
2957 Crompond Road, Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park / Website
Those wishing to experience the magic of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films can participate in this nighttime trail experience. Created by award-winning theatrical designers and experiential creators, this event allows visitors to walk through a magical forest filled with interactive moments, illusions and magical creatures from the hit films. Tickets are available here with availability from October until January.
Black Lagoon
153 Morgan Ave. / Website
An immersive Halloween pop-up bar, Black Lagoon, will be at Brooklyn bar Our Wicked Lady. This spooky experience allows guests to encounter a dark, dungeon-like environment that pays homage to the occult and bizarre. On the menu, drinks are Halloween-themed and served in custom glassware that is purchasable as a souvenir. The drink names reflect the season, including Screaming Banshee, Closed Casket and Hellraiser.
