The collection is inspired by New York’s Downtown girl and takes her beyond the concrete jungle by reimagining a new, more sustainable and nature-filled home.
The presentation included an immersive CGI and projection mapping experience that demonstrated the transition from the hard city landscape to the new concrete jungle. The collection is crafted in responsibly sourced materials and exudes a juxtaposition of ’80s and ’90s grunge. Tailored streetwear and refreshed denim silhouettes are embellished with dog clips, punk studs, curb chains and crystals. Each piece encapsulates Minkoff’s desire to create pieces that embody 21st-century femininity and the Downtown New York City woman, who is effortless, edgy and a little Rock-n-Roll. The handbags feature punk studded guitar straps and oversized curb link handles. All 15 models donned all-white looks as a canvas for digital storytelling, resulting in a stunning presentation of the collection.
Rebecca Minkoff also partnered with Morgan Stanley on the launch of the Banker Bag 2.0, a reimagined version of the staple bag for the next generation on Wall Street. Created from responsibly sourced olive-tanned leather, the world’s first and only leather to have received a Declare Red-List Free Label, the bag represents the more sustainable, accessible and inclusive future of the banking community.
