Margaret de Heinrich de Omorovicza Is the Woman Behind the Four Seasons Spa Program

By Christina Najjar | July 2, 2019 | Lifestyle

Stephen Omorovicza, a descendant of the noble Omorovicza family, was in Budapest running his family firm when he first met US diplomat Margaret, Chief of Staff at the US Embassy, working for Ambassador Nancy Goodman Brinker.

After he took her to Budapest’s ancient spas, their love (and skin!) blossomed and marriage soon followed. Inspired by the profound effects of the waters on their skin, Margaret and Stephen were keen to bring Hungary’s enviable beauty heritage to the rest of the world and together embarked on an exciting new skincare business.

Today, Omorovicza is a global beauty brand located in the world’s most exclusive stores and spas, with legions of loyal fans. Stephen can often be found in the laboratory working on new product formulations, while Margaret has switched effortlessly from her role as a former diplomat to Omorovicza’s global beauty ambassador.

Omorovicza even designed the stunning spa program at the Four Seasons Downtown. From stunning facials to stellar products, this elegant brand knows and defines luxury skincare.

What was the original inspiration behind the brand?
MARGARET DE HEINRICH DE OMOROVICZA: Stephen and I wanted to recreate the effects of visits to the mineral-rich Healing Waters of Budapest’s many thermal baths. We were fascinated by the transformative effects the mineral-rich waters had on our skin and saw the potential to harness these benefits into an innovative skincare range.

How was it designing the spa program for The Four Seasons?
MO: The Four Seasons have a very clear view of what their clients are looking for so their treatments are highly bespoke and the process is very collaborative and was a lot of fun to create!

What's been the biggest challenge in building the brand?
MO: I would say that the biggest challenge is that there are new challenges every day… -but the challenges also make it fun….no two days are ever the same…

What is it like working together as a couple?
MO: It really works for us… there is no one with whom I enjoy discussing business, music, art or politics with more.

Favorite product right now?
MO: I’m loving our Blue Diamond Concentrate! It uses a trio of innovative ingredients - diamond peptides, arabinogalactans and a compound of essential amino-acids and copper that work to prolong the healthy life and protect the DNA of skin cells for greater elasticity and firmness. It helps to smooth the complexion and diminish the appearance of fine lines.
