Chances are by now you’ve heard about Moxy NYC Lower East Side, the insanely chic boutique hotel that’s been taking NYC by storm with concepts such as Highlight Room, the recently-opened jaw-dropping rooftop bar, and Sake No Hana, a delicious Japanese restaurant. The 303-room hotel, outfitted in an eclectic yet stylish design that perfectly reflects LES, has been causing quite a stir.

The latest concept to arrive at the hotel is TAO Group Hospitality’s new piano bar lounge, Silver Lining. The intimate, dreamlike piano lounge invites chance encounters thanks to its sultry decor, complete with blue velvet chairs and low lighting. Creative cocktails, live DJ performances and a rotating mix of piano players and vocalists promise an unforgettable evening.
Silver Lining sits right off The Bowery on Broome street, placing the lounge in the heart of LES’s sultry nightlife scene. The lounge’s design aspects are inspired in part by Andy Warhol’s Silver Factory and were conceptualized during the seemingly-endless lonely months of the pandemic, when yearning for intimate spaces to socialize was at its most acute. The name “Silver Lining” reflects these beginnings.
The space is curated by creative directors Dylan Hales and Ronnie Flynn, who are co-founders of the LES hotspot The Flower Shop. Hales and Flynn bring their nightlife expertise to the space, resulting in a carefully curated ambiance for an unforgettable evening. The lounge features live entertainment on a rotating basis, with local piano players, vocalists and DJs from Manhattan and Brooklyn making appearances in the ongoing residency program.
The design includes details such as wall coverings filled with the story of the Lower East Side neighborhood told through hand-drawn illustrations. The bar serves as the focal point, where guests will experience the cocktail menu created by corporate beverage manager Erin Davey. The beverage menu offers both a wide variety of the classics and playful updates that pay homage to cultural moments, movies and music.
Highlights include the Midnight Breakfast, an indulgent espresso martini with chocolatey, malty cocoa puff cereal and bourbon, and a twist on a 1970s classic Tequila Sunrise Escalante Moment with tangerine juice, hibiscus, peach and orange blossom. Other favorites include the Drive-in Movie, which combines the nostalgia of a night at the cinema with the elegance of a classic cognac cocktail, all served with a side of house-made popcorn. The elevated beverage program is complemented by small plates such as Caviar Service, Pain Grillé Au Fromage, King Salmon Pillows and more.
