Collectors of cosmopolitan worldly goods will find like-minded loot in Roche Bobois' latest designer takeover.
Mariposa lamp, Wonder cabinet, Parisienne table, Chess end tables and Paris rug.
Whether it’s a patchwork rug with giant florals and demure ladies in masks, hot-pink metallic side tables shaped like chess pieces, a pillow collection that would look perfectly at home on Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge! set or a chandelier resembling a silvery Space Age letter C, Marcel Wanders brings his whimsical touch to Roche Bobois’ new Globe Trotter collection. The post-postmodernist product design and interiors guru’s designs “embody the poetic, audacious and dreamlike fantasy,” Roche Bobois CEO Gilles Bonan says of the collection. With mythology, legends, fables and voyagers at the heart of its inspiration, the offering is a tribute to those who dream big. Fantastical dining sets, casegoods, seating, tables, home accessories and lighting feature or take inspo from the Montgolfier brothers, the two French inventors of the hot air ballon (among other things). Fans of the eclectic will revel in something that speaks true to their adventurous aesthetic. 200 Madison Ave., roche-bobois.com
