Sarah Jeffreys Architecture + Interiors infuses imagination and innovation into a family townhome in Brooklyn.
The combination of The Shade Store’s linen blinds and handpainted Timorous Beasties wallcovering makes Sarah Jeffreys Architecture Interiors’ an interior masterpiece.
THE PROJECT
A family of five embarked on a journey to transform their home into a space that grows with them while showcasing their vibrant art collection. The project, led by a team of creative designers, focused on creating adaptable, multipurpose areas through a renovation that was both challenging and exhilarating.
THE DESIGN
The renovation converted the property into a 4,000-square-foot, single-family home with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. By keeping the integrity of original elements like the staircase spindles and cleverly using space, the designers achieved a unique blend of classic and contemporary design that supports both the family’s lifestyle and their art collection.
THE DETAILS
Drawing inspiration from the family’s playful yet polished art collection, the designers introduced a contemporary style with a nod to the home’s original architecture. Sustainable features, such as restored gas lamps and energy-efficient windows, were incorporated to enhance the eco-friendliness of the home. Challenges such as retaining the original plaster and integrating a full sprinkler system were met with creative solutions.

Every detail of the living room is thoughtful, including Sputnik chandelier, Kaws figurines, custom neon sign and Saarinen oval dining table.
“THE TEN-MONTH RENOVATION WAS SWIFT, FAST-PACED AND INCREDIBLY FUN.” -SARAH JEFFREYS
