Shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City is a whole-day affair.
You can spend hours trying on the latest styles, of course, but you can also take a lunch with your bestie at the Parisian restaurant L'Avenue, sip some coffee at the in-house cafe—and now, you can get your lips filled or your wrinkles smoothed out with injectible services at Skinney Medspa.

The New York-based company has been a staple of Saks Fifth Ave. for some time, but the option for injectables is an exciting new treat for stylish shoppers. It’s the next sensible expansion for the brand, which has grown beyond NY to include locations in Miami and Houston, too.
Co-founder Marisa Martino and COO Lindsay Malachowski spoke to us about the new menu items and what clients can expect from the Skinney Medspa brand, both here at home in NYC and going forward into the future.
Congrats on your announcement! What injectables will be on the menu at the Saks Fifth Ave location?
Martino: Thank you! We’re so excited to launch this at the Saks Fifth Avenue Flagship! It’s always been a dream of mine to normalize Botox and filler in a non-medical setting. At Skinney Medspa, we work with a large variety of fillers and neurotoxins specific to each client. If we’re treating lips for a soft pout, we like Restalyn Silk. If we are lifting and changing facial angles, we like Restylane Lyft. We’re also launching Aqua Gold (my favorite) for overall lifting and anti-aging.
Malachowski: We will be offering Botox, injectable fillers (Juvederm, Voluma) and AquaGold, which is a combination of Botox, fillers and brightening agents to give your skin an instant glow. AquaGold is a great treatment to receive prior to an event such as a wedding or gala, as it uses tiny microchannels to deliver ingredients straight into the top layers of the skin with no downtime.
Should folks prepare for their department store appointment in any specific way? Are the processes so simple, that they can be enjoyed during a day of shopping, or is it more involved?
Martino: Of course, enjoy the entire experience! Saks Fifth Avenue has done a fantastic job at creating a user experience. It’s not just about shopping anymore. Inside the store, you can have lunch at a French staple L’Avenue, come shop for your favorite designers all under one roof, and afterward come to Skinney for our favorite skincare products by Biologique Recherche and your AquaGold lifting procedures, with Emsculpt to prep your body for summer (and to fit in your new dress).
Malachowski: All of our treatments are minimally invasive, so no prior prep is required. For injectable procedures, we do recommend avoiding alcohol, aspirin or any high doses of vitamins at least 72 hours prior to avoid agents that contribute to bruising. We also recommend bringing a friend so that you can make an afternoon out of shopping the latest finds in designer handbags on level 1, stopping for lunch at L’Avenue on level 10, and visiting Skinney Medspa for all of your beauty needs on level 2.

What else is special about your Saks Fifth Ave location?
Malachowski: At Skinney Medspa, it’s all about technology. We have amazing technology for all things beauty. We have the all-new Coolsculpting Elite where within 1 hour you can treat your full abdomen and lose up to 25 percent of fat cells permanently. Emsculpt for abdomen and button sculpting, HydraFacial for glowing skin, Clear and Brillant for a deeper exfoliation, and more.
What is the ethos behind Skinney Medspa, and what sets you apart from other medspas?
Malachowski: We pride ourselves on treatment results, and we always schedule three months before and after treatment photos on our proprietary diagnostic imaging software to compare and track results. All of our technicians are highly trained in each of our services. We perform all of our treatments in a luxury, comfortable treatment setting. Our commitment to our client is offering the world's leading non-invasive beauty treatments in a luxury setting with incredible treatment results.
Do you have favorite treatments on the menu?
Malachowski: My favorite treatment is our IPL/Photofacial. This quick treatment uses photodynamic therapy (or light from the natural light spectrum) to target and fade dark spots from the sun, as well as reduce redness by coagulating tiny blood broken or dilated vessels on the face, which are usually caused from the wind, cold and sun. Your skin looks more evenly toned and brighter immediately after one session.
You expanded beyond NY last year, and now you’ve expanded your menu. What’s coming up next for Skinney?
Martino: Our core values have always been customer care, the industry's top technology, and an amazing team behind it all. We’ve expanded out of state which has been very exciting to watch. Our five-year plan is to have locations throughout the USA and have our Skinney product line a household name.
Malachowski: We are expanding our Flagship location in Flatiron by adding two new treatment rooms, as well as four treatment pods as an area for Skinney Academy; a new concept where we will offer in-person and online continuing education classes for estheticians and nurses in the aesthetic community. After that, we plan on continuing our national expansion inside of Saks 5th Avenue, as well as adding free-standing clinics in top cities such as LA, Atlanta and Chicago.
Anything else you’d like to add or share?
Malachowski: We are excited to partner with Saks Fifth Avenue to offer injectable treatments at our New York locations and plan on launching injectables in Saks Houston and Saks Miami later this year. We are also bringing on EON, a new exciting, robotic non-invasive fat reduction treatment to all five of our locations at the beginning of June 2022.
