Standard Dose Is Here to Curate Your CBD Experience

By Christina Najjar | January 25, 2019 | Style & Beauty

CBD seems to be absolutely everywhere these days. With the magic ingredient popping up in everything from our coffee to our face serums, it can be hard to navigate! How does one know the good from the bad? Enter Standard Dose. The new platform will represent a highly curated offering of over 50 ingestible and topical products including CBD honey, olive oil, and various beverages, as well as tinctures, and skin care products. Jim Morrison, former president of L’Oreal, sits on the board of directors alongside founder and CEO Anthony Saniger.

Standard Dose is a multi-brand CBD retailer dedicated to the pursuit of elevated wellness through natural healing practices. Discovering and harnessing the restorative properties of CBD, the platform will represent a curated selection of the most effective and trusted products available.

With a commitment to sharing the benefits of CBD, Standard Dose is launching with a range of over 60 ingestible and topical natural remedies for anxiety, pain, inflammation, sleep issues, detox, and skin care. The offering of ingestible products includes vape pens, tinctures, olive oil, honey, and beverages, with topical products ranging from healing creams and serums to transdermal patches.

We sat down to chat with CEO Anthony Saniger about how he decided to enter such the space and what makes Standard Dose different.

CBD is a crowded space right now—why did you decide to start Standard Dose?
ANTHONY SANIGER: When I started researching CBD over a year ago, I noticed there was a lot of confusion and misconception regarding its uses and benefits. There were brands making false, and often clearly exaggerated, claims about CBD and I saw an opportunity to be able to bring clarity and set a standard in the industry.

What’s your vetting process like for products?
AS: We've internally tested over 250 different brands and curated our favorites. We furthermore require all brands to provide us with their lab tests to ensure product quality—the CBD used in the products we carry needs to be sourced from industrial hemp. Additionally, we do our own independent lab testing to ensure the information we are provided is accurate.

What do you think is the biggest misconception about CBD?
AS: The biggest misconception is that CBD will get you high. There’s a stigma associated with cannabis, but unlike the cannabinoid THC, CBD does not have psychotropic effects. That’s why we love it; we can harness all of the benefits of cannabis and still stay balanced throughout the day.

What are some of your favorite brands and why?
AS: I've been using CBD for over a year now, and using the Standard Dose Tincture every day has helped reduce my anxiety and improve my mood overall. I have also always had trouble sleeping and I've been using Mineral's ROBYN for Sleep tincture, which I swear by. I also love VYBES Maracujá Sparkling drink and use Potli's honey as a sweetener in my tea. As far as exfoliating masks go, I use HORA's Overnight Exfoliating Mask weekly.

What are you most excited about now that the launch is under your belt?
AS: I'm excited to share our knowledge about CBD and create a space that offers natural options for relieving stress, pain, and anxiety on a daily basis. I've seen CBD make a difference in the lives of so many people around me and I'm excited to be able to expand the conversation and to offer trusted CBD products that have been verified and tested. I'm also enjoying the process of developing a holistic wellness approach through our retail experiences, the first of which we're launching in New York this spring.
