Next year marks the Year of the Dragon in the lunar calendar, but Tag Heuer isn’t waiting until 2024 to tap into that power, and you don’t have to wait, either.
The Swiss luxury watchmaker honors the Year of the Dragon with a brand-new, limited release of two timepieces, both of which channel the creature’s traditional essence of power and charisma and are now available to purchase.
A take on the brand’s classic racing watch, this Year of the Dragon Carrera Chronograph is crafted in gold and steel colorways. The watches boast rhodium and 18k pink gold-plated indexes coated in a red lacquer that matches the red alligator leather band. A discreet dragon character is visible at 6 o’clock on the watch’s face, meant to evoke the zodiac symbol’s strength and prosperity.
The caseback design reveals a printed Chinese dragon figure around the sapphire glass, adorned with special engravings to nod to the watch’s hyper-limited release. Only 300 will be made in steel, and only 50 for the more exclusive 18k 5N pink gold watch.
The watch is not only beautiful but offers impeccable timekeeping precision and an 80-hour power reserve.
The limited drop is being sold exclusively in Tag Heuer boutiques and on the brand’s website, tagheuer.com. See more of the watch below.
