Take Off With Flite

Isabelle Canelli Isabelle Canelli | August 12, 2020 | Lifestyle National

A unique experience on the water is reshaping surfing one wave at a time.

JSCOPYRIGHT011.jpgThe Fliteboard can last for up to 90 minutes of wave- cruising per charge.

At once fast and efficient, Flite is an electric foiling water vessel that looks like a board but functions like a vehicle. And this summer, this brainchild of an Australian surfer is slated to land on the Hamptons’ shores with aplomb. “Fliteboarding feels like flying, providing a whisper-quiet, virtually emission-free ride whether cruising leisurely or racing at speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour without leaving a wake or pollution trail,” explains Flite’s creator David Trewern, who is a kitesurfing world record-holder. Every detail of the Fliteboard experience is available at Gurney’s Star Island Resort and Hamptons Boat Rental. The engineering of this motorized board allows for a 90-minute ride thanks to the Fliteboard’s dynamic eFoil propulsion system, which when co-piloted by a handheld remote controller produces a noise-, emission- and wake-free adventure that’s about to make huge waves.
