The 9 Best Restaurants Open for Thanksgiving Dinner In New York

By:Amy Rosner By:Amy Rosner | October 11, 2021 | Food & Drink

It’s the fourth Thursday in November.

You’re a little tipsy on your Pumpkin Spice Martini, and decide to nix your homemade eight-course Thanksgiving dinner.

jedowen.jpgWe hope our extended family we not-so-secretly hate doesn’t mind.

Yes, we’re still doing freelance work. Yes, we’re still single. And yes, we’re still a Democrat.

Enough with the questions, Uncle Bill.

Even though you’re too lazy to prep that turkey nobody even eats, you still want to celebrate the holiday with a festive meal.

Everybody’s favorite Italian restaurant is hosting a delicious Thanksgiving meal this year. This upscale Tuscan-American eatery offers a greenmarket prix fixe menu on Thursday, November 25th, from 1 pm to 8 pm. The meal is $120 per guest, with an optional wine pairing for $40 dollars per guest. Obviously, the wine pairing is a no-brainer. Especially if Uncle Bill somehow weasels his way into your plan. Menu highlights include Autumn Squash Soup, Roasted Turkey Breast stuffed with Sourdough, and delicious Spiced Pumpkin Pie and Apple Crisp for dessert. The atmosphere is a cool rustic vibe, which totally screams Thanksgiving. You’re guaranteed to get the best pics on hearth.

Arte Cafe

You better come hungry, because this Upper East Side hot spot is offering a four-course Thanksgiving dinner. Reminder: don’t wear your new Aritzia Melina pants. Even though you wasted your entire paycheck on that chocolate brown color that totally matches the holiday aesthetic. The prix fixe menu comes with an appetizer of choice, Pasta Intermezzo, Rich Organic Turkey, and a Sweet Ending to end the night right. We're super excited about the Pumpkin Ravioli with Porcini mushrooms. Italian cuisine isn’t typically associated with Thanksgiving, but trust us, this meal will be a piece of Arte.

STK

Multiple Locations/Website

Many people come here for the truffle fries, but we’re in it for the Thanksgiving dinner. The mashed potatoes here are really just as addictive as the tower of fries everybody Instagrams with the most unnecessary STK geotag. We know where you are, babe. STK’s Thanksgiving dinner will be held from November 25th-November 28th. Super clutch if you’re just as addicted to stuffing as we are. The Roasted Free-Range Turkey Special with sides and trimmings is $65 for adults and $39 for the kiddos.

Orsay

We typically don’t associate Thanksgiving with French Cuisine, but it’s totally the move. Orsay’s famed chef will prepare a $79 three-course menu including slowly roasted dark and white turkey meat, roasted yams, brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry compote. Hot take: cranberry sauce is totally the best thing at Thanksgiving. If you argue that it’s mashed potatoes, you’re honestly so basic.

Jubilee

948 1st Ave, Manhattan/Website

This classic French restaurant puts its own spin on the All-American holiday, and we are absolutely loving it. The prix fixe menu is $75 per person, which is honestly a steal for all of the gourmet renditions of this holiday meal. Menu highlights include Salmon and Yellowfin Tartare, Roasted Turkey with Foie Gras Stuffing and Truffle Sauce, Duck Breast with Rainbow Potatoes, and Chocolate Pecan Pie. And how can we forget about the Profiteroles with Warm Chocolate Sauce and Toasted Almonds?

Pylos

Just like Jubilee, Pylos is pushing the boundaries of a typical Thanksgiving dinner. Serving some of the best Egg-Lemon soup in the city, Pylos is one of the most sought-after spots for elevated, Greek cuisine. Although the specifics of the menu haven’t been released yet, we know it will be a Greek-inspired Thanksgiving feast, with a menu that blends old and new Greek dishes with New World ingredients. Maybe don’t come here if you’re a traditionalist, but rest assured, this meal will not disappoint.

Sestina

67 2nd Ave, Manhattan/Website

Your Trump-loving Uncle Bill probably won’t ever trade in turkey for tofu, which gives you just another reason to spend Thanksgiving at Sestina. This trendy forward-thinking restaurant is entirely vegan, plant-based, and sustainable. We know you’re probably rolling your eyes, but trust us on this one, it tastes just like the real deal. Sestina’s Thanksgiving dinner will be held from 2 pm to 9 pm and will feature their regular menu with festive, seasonal specials.

Le Prive

626 10th Ave, Manhattan/Website

Who knew French-inspired Thanksgiving was so popular? If you want a more low-key night, Le Prive is the place for you. The $65 prix fixe menu includes brasserie classics such as French Onion Soup, Escargot, and Short Rib Bourguignon. To get in the Thanksgiving spirit, Le Prive is offering holiday mainstays such as Turkey with Giblet Gravy, Crispy Sweet Potatoes, and much more!

Quality Meats

Thanksgiving is all about quality family time and quality meat, so what better place to celebrate than the most celebrated steakhouse in New York City? Quality Meats is the perfect place to go if you want to do something special on Thanksgiving, but aren’t a big fan of Candied Yams and Apple Pie. We literally don’t trust you, but that’s a whole different story. This upscale, New-American restaurant will offer their regular full menu, with some optional holiday specials for some cheer. It may not be as quintessential as Thanksgiving at home, but there’s honestly nothing more American than a good ol’ chop.
