Food & Drink,
Bye-bye, brass pineapples filled with Tropicana punch. The latest cocktail craze to take flight is the Waterbury Royale.
Freehold’s Waterbury Royale packs 16 ounces of Absolut Elyx, 10.5 ounces of watermelon juice, 8 ounces of lime juice, 8 ounces of simple syrup and 10 ounces of Champagne. Plus, it’s garnished with a handful of Sour Patch Kids for a playful kick.
Williamsburg hot spot Freehold was founded on breaking conventions. Inspired by a lively hotel lobby, sans hotel rooms, the hybrid hangout has everything from comedy shows and lawn games to networking nooks and Sunday suppers. And when it comes to challenging New York’s top-shelf creative cocktail scene, Freehold owners Brice Jones and Brad Gallagher aren’t ones to follow the flock. Through summer, they’re serving up their new Waterbury Royale party punch. Served in a brass swan, it’s so Insta-worthy that post-sunset it even gets lit with sparklers.
