Yara Shahidi took to the 2023 Met Gala red carpet in Cartier jewelry and a beautiful and bronzed two-piece look, half of it being 2008 archived Jean Paul Gaultier and the other half couture. The stunning young actress has long been the main character of a love affair with the Chanel fashion house—Chanel was the first brand to work with Shahidi and host her at a fashion show.
"My genuine appreciation for fashion comes from that experience," Shahidi told the red carpet host.
Known for her role in "Black-ish" as teenaged Zoey Johnson and the recipient of a NAACP Image Award, Shahidi is set to star as Tinker Bell in the upcoming Peter Pan spinoff "Peter Pan & Wendy." Not only does her Met Gala look serve scintillating fairy-goddess energy, it also nods to Lagerfeld's 1993 Chanel collection in keeping with the evening's theme of "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty."
Neutral tones in the tan color palette and pearls galore were spotted across the red carpet tonight, as well as chunky neck accessories that function as art all on their own.
