What’s your sign? Can I buy you a drink? Pick-up lines are cheesy, but zodiac craft cocktails are not, and you should be sippin’ on something that fits your elemental vibe.
Iceland-based Reyka Vodka knows how to have a little fun, so the brand asked company ambassador and expert mixologist Trevor Schneider to create four unique cocktails custom-made to vibe with each of the Zodiac’s four elements, and we’ve got the recipe for each.

“I wanted each cocktail to represent the essence of the elements and crafted them with ingredients specifically chosen for the grounding effect they offer to each element of the zodiac,” Schneider says. “The fire sign cocktail brings the heat with a chile-infused hibiscus syrup, and on the other end of the spectrum the water sign cocktail is light and refreshing with the addition of aloe vera juice. Skál!”
For our earthy friends, Reyka’s sage-infused vodka mixed with lemon conjures a bright but subtle mood; and Schneider brings a bit of lavender and dry champagne to create a sense of grounding for our introspective air signs.
The good folks at Reyka Vodka hope you enjoy, and they especially recommend imbibing your sign’s cocktail during those pesky Mercury retrogrades when a bit of grounding can be just what the stellar doctor ordered. Sip on your special craft cocktail and repeat Iceland’s national slogan to yourself, “petta reddast,” which translates to “everything will work out all right in the end.”
Hita means “heat” in Icelandic, and this recipe certainly brings the spice with fresh lime juice and chili-infused hibiscus syrup.
To make the hibiscus syrup, add the sugar and water into a pot and heat until sugar is dissolved, then add the rest of the ingredients into the pot. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, keep covered and let cool. Fine strain and bottle. To create the cocktail, combine all ingredients into cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into rocks glass with ice and garnish with a lime wheel.
This drink is named for Iceland’s volcanic mountain, Mt. Keilir. It uses safe-infused vodka and black pepper syrup to pack a delicious punch.
Black Pepper Syrup
To make the black pepper syrup, grate fresh cracked peppercorn in boiling water, then cut with sugar. Let simmer for 15 minutes, then allow to cool and fine strain into a bottle. To infuse he vodka, place 15 sage leaves into a blender with 12 oz of Reyka Vodka and blend. Fine strain that into another bottle. To build the cocktail, combine all the ingredients except the soda into a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a Collins glass with ice, then top with club soda and garnish with a sage bunch.
Gola means “breeze” in Icelandic, and this divine mix of citrus, lavender and champagne is like a breath of fresh air.
Combine all ingredients except the champagne in a shaker with ice. Shake, strain into a flute glass and top with champagne.
This one gets its name from the famed Skógafoss waterfall in southern Iceland, and it’ll transport your taste buds to a place just as heavenly.
Combine all ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, strain into wine glass with ice and garnish with a lemon twist.
